How to reach Hamster Home

1. Craft a cogwheel at the furnace next to the Woodman Corp wooden building (4 metal ingots).
2. Find the broken gear mechanism that controls mine bridges.
3. Interact and choose Build to install the cogwheel and repair the lever.
4. Pull the lever to open new mine paths.
5. Follow the newly opened route until you meet Daddy Hamster and his family.

Talk to Daddy first — he explains Momma is pregnant — then speak with Momma Hamster to start the questline.

Quest 1 — Very Comfortable Pillows

Pick up the two worn-out pillows in front of Momma. Carry them to your Workbench. Repair each pillow with 4 stonewood (8 total). Momma likes hard pillows, so do not underfill. Deliver both finished pillows, then talk to Daddy again when he requests her favorite snack: pickles in chocolate cream.

Quest 2 — A Little Snack

Open Screw It! Supplies and buy Chocolate Cream and Pickled Cucumbers (10 gold each). When the oversized delivery box arrives, grab it, open the Workbench, select the pickles and chocolate mix, and place the cucumbers into the mix. Feed Momma the finished snack.

Tip: Keep at least three hamsters after the line opens. You need one for the Flying Hamster ritual (plus a balloon) on the Mysterious Well page and two hamsters as build costs for the Electronics Press used in battery crafting.

Quest 3 — Fixing the Pipe

Momma mentions a small inlet pipe next to the outlet. Find the clogged pipe outside, climb onto it, and use your axe on the clogged exit. Clearing the blockage enables the later treat-for-hamsters loop.

Quest 4 — Hamster Resort (unlock trigger)

Build a hamster cage at the pipe with:

• 1× hamster house
• 10× small animal fence
• 5× small birch beam
• 1× birch plank

When the cage completes, watch for the notification that Hamstertech is unlocked. That message is the real completion flag — not merely finishing dialogue.

After unlock, send Momma more pickles-and-chocolate mix through the inlet pipe whenever you want additional hamsters released for machine duty.

How to use Hamstertech on the factory floor

Hamsters excel at babysitting repetitive stations once inputs stay stocked:

• Assign them to saws, presses, or other looping machines you would otherwise stand beside.
• Keep infeed bins above empty so they do not idle.
• Combine with human NPC Helpers — hamsters cover machine cycles while NPCs haul or craft.

Hamstertech does not replace power planning. Electric-process machines still need wiring and later batteries. Think of hamsters as labor, not as a free energy source.
